Die Wurzeln der Pechiney Gruppe finden sich schon Ende des 19
Jahrhunderts. Paul T. Héroult: Veredelung von Aluminium Oxid und
Herstellung von Aluminium durch den Elektrolyse Prozess. Héroult fand dazu Schweizer
Kapital und begann die Produktion in Neuhausen, Schweiz. Hier liegt die
Geburt von ALUSUISSE, heute ALCAN INC. |

1897: A.R. Pechiney kauft in Saint- Michel- de -
Maurienne die Schmelzhütte. Von diesem Zeitpunkt wird die Aluminium
Herstellung durch Elektrolyse ein wichtiger Bestandteil des Unternehmens
(anstelle des Deville Herstellungsverfahren). |
1897:A.R.Pechniney buys the Calypso smelter at
Saint-Michel-de- Maurienne. From now on, electrolytic aluminium will be an
